
Michael Fox
Founder and Lead-Instructor
With 21 years of playing experience, both as a goalie and player, Michael brings a unique hockey background. Michael grew up playing for the Springfield Kings before going on to play for the Bloomington Thunder, Peoria Rivermen, Peoria Mustangs, and the University of Illinois Fighting Illini.
Michael began working in hockey in 2022 with the Chicago Steel as a business operations intern. In the 2023-24 season, he was the head coach and general manager of the University of Illinois Fighting Illini (ACHA II). The following summer, he served as a scout for the Motor City Gamblers (USPHL). In 2024, Michael held multiple roles. He began as a tracker for Clear Sight Analytics, where he watched over 85 NHL games and tracked every shot sequence with 34 points of data. He also served as the video coach intern for the Bloomington Bison (ECHL), during their inaugural season. In addition, Michael was an ice-hockey instructor for the Springfield Park District and a skill-development coach for Elite Hockey Camps. Michael currently works as a part-time hockey instructor for the Chicago Blackhawks.
Michael holds both a Bachelors, and a Masters degree in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism from the University of Illinois. He plans to attend law school in 2026.
